About Our Church
Who We Are
A fellowship of believers in west Little Rock — and, we hope, a church home for you.
“To see all people come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, and to disciple believers to be more like Jesus.”
Our history
Chenal Valley Baptist Church began in April 1998, when God led Bro. Tom Mitchell and his wife Karen to start a new church with eight members meeting on West Markham Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bro. Mitchell served as pastor until 2016. Upon his retirement, the church called Bro. Allen Morton to be her pastor.
God has blessed us along the way and continues to bless. We praise Him for providing this strategic location in West Little Rock, and today we are thankful that you have come to worship with us.
Our members
God has blessed us with a wonderful group of loving Christians, and He continues to call people to serve alongside us. We strive to be obedient to Him. The Word of God is the standard for everything we believe and all that is preached. God has impressed on us to be a people of prayer — we are convinced that God will do nothing unless His people pray.
Our association
Chenal Valley is associated with the Baptist Missionary Association of America (BMAA). This partnership enables us to join with other believers in the United States and in foreign countries to more effectively spread the gospel and see others come to know Jesus.
You may not have come from a Baptist tradition, but you desire to be part of a community of believers who love God, His Word, prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. We would love to visit with you and answer any questions you might have. We have always believed that folks will know when God has led them to the church where He wants them to serve.
If you’re looking for a church home, we’re a church home looking for you.
Our worship services
At Chenal Valley Baptist Church we strive to honor God by exalting the name of Jesus Christ. Our 8:30 service is a traditional, hymn-driven worship style — created to serve the growing number of senior living communities in our area. Our 10:30 service is led by our praise team and has a praise-and-worship feel.
We welcome fellowship with all people regardless of race, economic status, or age. Come on in and give us a try.
